Parents of all Confirmation and Youth Group students are invited to attend one of our Parent Meetings as we prepare for an exciting year of faith formation.
We'll introduce our Confirmation instructors and Youth Ministry volunteers, preview this year's youth group curriculum, Jesus' Parables: Why They Still Matter, review attendance and service expectations, discuss the Spring Retreat and the 2027 ELCA Youth Gathering, and explain how we'll communicate throughout the year.
IMPORTANT: The Confirmation and Youth Group webpages will serve as our primary information hub. Parents and students will find calendars, schedules, registrations, forms, event details, resources, announcements, and important updates all in one place. We'll show you how to access these pages and make them your first stop throughout the year.
We look forward to partnering with your family as we grow together in faith, worship, fellowship, and service.

Fast. Pray. Serve. Lead.
Join us for an unforgettable overnight experience as we prepare our hearts and hands to serve through Rise Against Hunger.
Students will begin fasting at 8:00 AM on Saturday, September 19 before arriving at church that evening for a meaningful lock-in centered on faith, prayer, and community.
Throughout the night we'll explore what it means to be a disciple who leads through:
Prayer and worship
Mindfulness and reflection
Team-building activities
Games and fellowship
Conversations about servant leadership and following Jesus
On Sunday morning, we'll end our fast by celebrating Holy Communion together during the 8:00 AM worship service, remembering that Christ is the Bread of Life who nourishes and strengthens us for service.
Following worship, we'll enjoy breakfast together before joining the congregation to set up, pack, and clean up for our Rise Against Hunger meal-packing event until approximately 2:00 PM.
This isn't just a lock-in; it's an opportunity to deepen your faith, build friendships, and experience what it means to serve alongside the entire church family. Come ready to be challenged, encouraged, and inspired to live as disciples who lead with compassion and purpose.
Together we'll pray. Together we'll serve. Together we'll make a difference.

Youth in Grades 8-12 are invited to join us as we gather with congregations across the ELCA for this bi-annual event. Priority registration opens October.
The 2027 ELCA Youth Gathering will bring thousands of young people together in Minneapolis to worship, learn and celebrate God’s limitless love. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience, filled with energy, faith and connection. Each day will center on powerful, youth-focused worship, led by inspiring speakers, artists and musicians. Evening Mass Gatherings will unite everyone for moments of joy, reflection and renewal that remind us what it means to be church — together. Community Beyond Your Congregation
The Gathering is more than an event — it’s a community. Your group will meet others from across the country, share stories and form friendships rooted in faith. From laughter to late-night conversations, the Gathering is a space where young people experience the wider church in a whole new way.
If you are interested in going or have any general questions please reach out to Mario Kast - mario@stmichaelpa.org by October 1st.
